- We use your birth details only to compute and explain your chart.
- Your phone number is used only for calls you ask for. We never sell it or share it for marketing.
- Hey Kundli’s notebook of what you’ve told him is yours to read, edit and delete.
- You can delete any profile in one tap, and close your whole account by writing to us.
Who we are
HeyKundli (heykundli.com) is operated by KIWCO, 5th Floor, Horizon Centre, Gurgaon - 122002, Haryana, India (“we”, “us”). Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act), KIWCO is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. Write to us at info@heykundli.com; our Grievance Officer is at the end of this page.
What we collect
- Account: your name and email, from Google sign-in or the email you sign up with.
- Birth details: date, time and place of birth, with the coordinates and timezone we work out from the place, for you and for anyone you add. Add someone else only with their permission; we ask you to confirm it each time.
- Conversations: your questions and Hey Kundli’s answers, so the chat keeps its context.
- Hey Kundli’s notebook: short notes about what you’ve told him (a concern, a life event, a preference) and notes you add yourself. You can read, edit and delete every note in the app. Birth details, phone numbers and emails are never written into it.
- Phone number: only if you use Call me. It is verified with a one-time code.
- Calls: when each call happened, how long it lasted and what was charged, plus the summary and transcript our voice provider sends back. If a call is recorded, the recording is kept by the provider and linked in our records.
- Payments: amount, date, status and the Razorpay reference. Card and UPI details go straight to Razorpay; we never see them.
- Consent records: what you agreed to (these terms, a call, adding someone else’s details, WhatsApp or email updates), when, and which version, with your browser’s name and a one-way hash of your network address. This is how we can show that consent was given.
- Device and usage data: pages visited, errors, and basic browser and device details, used to keep HeyKundli working and secure.
- Your choices: app language, email and WhatsApp preferences, and a Kindle address if you use Send to Kindle.
- Cookies: the ones needed to keep you signed in and remember choices such as language. Some pages may load an analytics tool to measure how the site is used, which sets its own cookies. It never receives your birth details, conversations or notebook.
We don’t ask for Aadhaar, PAN or bank details, and we don’t read your contacts.
Why we use it
- To compute your chart and let Hey Kundli explain it, remembering your conversation and notebook.
- To place the calls you ask for and bill them fairly, per minute.
- To take payments, keep your credit balance and handle refunds.
- To send what you asked for: sign-in links, receipts, the daily note if it’s on, books you send to Kindle, and WhatsApp updates if you opt in.
- To keep HeyKundli safe and working: stopping bots and abuse, fixing errors, and meeting legal duties such as tax records.
- To improve answers: we keep anonymised topics people ask about and questions Hey Kundli couldn’t answer, so we can add knowledge. These hold no name, contact or birth details.
We rely on your consent, which you give when you sign up, accept these terms in the app, request a call or add a profile, and on the legitimate uses the DPDP Act allows, such as meeting a legal obligation. We don’t sell personal data, use it for advertising, or build profiles to target you.
How Hey Kundli uses AI
Your chart is computed by our astronomy engine; an AI model writes the explanation. To do that, your message, the relevant parts of your computed chart and your notebook are sent to the AI model provider through our AI gateway. We don’t use your data to train AI models, and we don’t ask or allow our AI providers to train on it.
Speaking to Hey Kundli in the browser
You can dictate a question and have answers read aloud, using your browser’s built-in speech features, only when you tap the microphone or Listen. Read-aloud happens on your device. Dictation is different: in some browsers, including Chrome and Edge, your audio is sent to the browser maker’s speech service (such as Google or Microsoft) to be turned into text. We never receive the audio, only the text. If you’d rather not, type instead.
Talking to Hey Kundli in the app
When you tap Talk, your microphone records one question at a time, and only after you tap. Each recording is sent to our speech provider, ElevenLabs, to be turned into text; the answer is turned into speech by the same provider and played to you. We keep the text of your question and the answer in your conversation, as in the chat. We do not keep the recordings. Talk is billed per minute of speech from your credits, and only for turns that were answered.
Voice calls
When you tap Call me, our voice provider dials the number you verified. You agree to each call before it is placed, and we record that consent. Call audio is processed live to run the conversation. Afterwards the provider sends back a summary and transcript, which we save to your account so Hey Kundli can refer back to it; the summary also appears in your notebook, where you can delete it. We place calls only when you ask.
Reviews
After a Talk session or a call we may ask how it went. A review is kept with your account so it can be given once per session. Its stars and the “what went well” choices are shown on the expert's card, counted with everyone else's and never with your name. What could be better, and anything you write, is read by our team to improve the answers; we may show a comment on a card, without your name. Giving a review is optional.

Where your data is processed
Some of these providers store or process data outside India, for example in the United States, the European Union or Singapore. The DPDP Act allows this except to countries the Government of India restricts, and we will stop any transfer to a country that is restricted. Our providers protect data with contractual and technical safeguards.
How long we keep it
- For as long as your account is open, so your charts and conversations are there when you come back.
- Deleting a profile removes its birth details, chart, notebook and messages.
- A chart cast before signing in is kept for 30 days, then deleted. If you sign in, it moves into your account and the copy is deleted a day later.
- Closing your account removes your personal data within 30 days, except payment records we must keep by law.
- Consent records are kept for as long as we may need to show that consent was given.
- Deleted data can stay in encrypted backups for a short time before it is overwritten.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you can:
- See it: get a summary of the personal data we hold about you, how we use it, and who we’ve shared it with.
- Correct it: have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or updated.
- Erase it: have data erased when it is no longer needed for the purpose you gave it for.
- Withdraw consent: as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing doesn’t undo what happened before, and features that need the data (such as calls) stop working.
- Complain: have a grievance heard by us, and if you’re not satisfied, by the Data Protection Board of India.
- Nominate someone: to use these rights for you if you die or can no longer act yourself.
In the app you can delete any profile (and add it again with corrected birth details), change your remedy style, read, edit or delete notebook notes, and turn emails and WhatsApp off. For anything else, such as a copy of your data, closing your account or a nomination, write to info@heykundli.com from your account email. We may need to confirm it’s really you. We reply within 7 days.
Children
HeyKundli is for people 18 and over, and we don’t knowingly create accounts for anyone younger. A parent or lawful guardian may add a child’s chart; by adding it you confirm you are that child’s parent or guardian and give consent for them. A child’s chart is used only for education and wellbeing: there is no Kundli matching and no call for anyone under 18, and we never track or target children.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure providers, access is limited to people who need it, and consent records keep only a hashed network address. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect only what we need. If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires.

Questions or complaints about your data go to our Grievance Officer. We reply within 7 days.
