Marriage prediction by date of birth: the 7th house, D9 and timing

"When will I get married?" is the question astrologers hear most. A chart answers it with periods, not a single date, and describes the partnership more than the partner. Here is what is read, and how HeyKundli answers from your computed chart.

What the chart looks at

The 7th house
The house of marriage and partnership. Its sign, the planets in it and the planets aspecting it describe the relationship.
The 7th lord
Its placement shows where and how partnership enters your life, and its dasha is a classic marriage period.
Venus, and Jupiter
Venus is the natural significator of marriage and love; classical texts also read Jupiter as the significator of the husband in a woman's chart. HeyKundli names which convention it applies.
The navamsha (D9)
The divisional chart of marriage and dharma. A 7th-house promise is confirmed (or tempered) in the D9.
The 2nd and 11th houses
The 2nd is family and the household you build; the 11th is the fulfilment of wishes, often active when marriage happens.
Mars and Mangal dosha
Mars in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th is Mangal dosha. HeyKundli shows it with its classical cancellations, which apply in many charts.

Love or arranged?

A link between the 5th house (romance) and the 7th (marriage), especially through their lords or Venus, is the classical sign of a love marriage. Charts often show both possibilities; HeyKundli says which links it found.

Matching two charts

For a proposal, kundli matching compares two charts with the Ashtakoota system (36 points) and checks Mangal dosha on both sides. HeyKundli computes the score from the North Indian tables, explains each koota, and never calls a match "doomed": a score is a starting point for a conversation, not a verdict.

The 7th lord in each house

The placement of the 7th lord describes how partnership enters and shapes your life. These are classical tendencies, read with Venus, Jupiter and the D9 before any conclusion.

  1. In the 1st housePartnership is central to your identity; you often choose your partner yourself.
  2. In the 2nd houseMarriage grows the family and household; the partner may be linked to family or finances.
  3. In the 3rd housePartner met through siblings, neighbours, work or communication; an enterprising spouse.
  4. In the 4th houseHome-centred married life; the partner values family, property and comfort.
  5. In the 5th houseRomance leads to marriage; a love match is classically suggested, with children emphasised.
  6. In the 6th houseMarriage asks for practical care and patience; differences are worked through together.
  7. In the 7th housePartnership is a major life theme; the spouse has a strong, independent personality.
  8. In the 8th houseA deep, transforming bond; shared finances and in-laws matter, and timing can run later.
  9. In the 9th houseA partner with shared values, perhaps from another place or background; fortune after marriage.
  10. In the 10th houseThe partner is linked with your work or public life; marriage can raise your standing.
  11. In the 11th houseMarriage fulfils long-held wishes; the partner may come through friends or networks.
  12. In the 12th houseA partner from afar or abroad, or a private bond; travel and expenses follow marriage.

When: how the timing is read

Marriage is usually timed in the dasha or antardasha of the 7th lord, of Venus, of planets in the 7th, or of the D9's strong planets.

Many astrologers also watch the "double transit": Jupiter and Saturn both aspecting or crossing the 7th house or its lord. HeyKundli computes your dashas and the transits and shows the periods it found, with the dates it used.

Why date of birth alone isn't enough

Most "marriage prediction by date of birth" tools read only your Sun sign or a number from your birth date. A Vedic chart needs more: the ascendant (lagna) changes sign about every two hours, and with it every house, so the house that speaks for marriage depends on your birth time and place.

With an exact time, every house and its lord is fixed. With an approximate time, HeyKundli says which conclusions hold anyway (signs of slow planets, most dasha dates) and which depend on the minutes. With no time at all, it reads the Moon chart (Chandra lagna) and says so.

Every position, house, divisional chart and dasha date on HeyKundli is computed by the engine (Swiss Ephemeris, Lahiri ayanamsa, whole-sign houses, historical time zones). The AI astrologer explains what was computed and cites it; it never calculates a position or a date itself, so the facts do not change between answers. How we compute.

What an answer looks like

Example question: “When is a favourable period for my marriage?”

An answer cites what it uses, for example: "Your 7th lord Venus is in the 5th [H7, H5], the classic love-marriage link, and Venus is strong in your navamsha [D9]. Your Venus antardasha begins in August 2026 [MD, AD], and Jupiter crosses your 7th house that year, so mid-2026 to 2027 is the clearest window." Each tag opens the placement or period.

An illustration of the format, not a reading: your own answer uses your computed chart and dates.

Common misconceptions

“Mangal dosha means a marriage will fail.”
Mangal dosha has classical cancellations that apply in many charts, and it is weighed with both charts. HeyKundli never calls a marriage doomed.
“A low guna milan score means you cannot marry.”
The 36-point score is one input. Astrologers also read both charts' 7th houses, D9s and dashas.
“The exact wedding date can be predicted.”
Charts show periods that favour marriage; the date itself is a family's choice.

Questions people ask

Can marriage be predicted by date of birth?

A reliable reading needs your birth time and place as well, because the 7th house depends on the ascendant. With them, the chart shows the periods that favour marriage rather than one date.

Which house is for marriage in Vedic astrology?

The 7th house and its lord, read with Venus (and Jupiter in a woman's chart by classical convention) and confirmed in the navamsha (D9).

Is Mangal dosha always a problem?

No. Mangal dosha has classical cancellations that apply in many charts, and it is usually considered when both charts are matched. HeyKundli shows the dosha together with its cancellations.

Can HeyKundli match two kundlis?

Yes: Ashtakoota matching out of 36 points with each koota explained, and Mangal dosha checked for both people.
