Money and wealth prediction: dhana yogas and the houses of gain

Wealth in a Vedic chart is read through what you hold (the 2nd house), what you gain (the 11th) and fortune (the 5th and 9th). Combinations of their lords, the dhana yogas, describe the capacity; the dashas say when it opens. Here is what is read, and what is not.

What the chart looks at

The 2nd house
Savings, family wealth, assets you keep, and speech.
The 11th house
Gains, income from all sources and the fulfilment of goals.
The 5th and 9th houses
Fortune (bhagya, the 9th) and intelligence, investment and speculation (the 5th).
Dhana yogas
Classical wealth combinations formed when the lords of the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th and 11th houses join, aspect or exchange. HeyKundli's engine detects yogas by rule and cites them.
Jupiter and Venus
Jupiter is the significator of wealth and growth; Venus of comforts, luxury and money spent on beauty.
The 8th house
Inheritance, insurance, a partner's money and sudden gains or losses.

Spending, debt and the 12th house

The 12th house is expenditure, and the 6th is loans and debts. A strong 11th with an active 12th reads as money that comes and goes; a well-placed 2nd lord with a quiet 12th as steady saving. The balance between them often explains more than any single wealth yoga.

When the 6th house is emphasised in a dasha, borrowing and repayment are often in focus. HeyKundli points this out plainly, without fear, and never recommends a loan or an investment.

Jupiter, Venus and the D2 (hora) chart

Jupiter expands whatever it touches; its house and the houses it aspects are where growth comes most easily. Venus shows comforts and what money is spent on.

The hora (D2) divides each sign into a solar and a lunar half: planets in the Sun's hora are read as earning through effort and authority, in the Moon's hora through care, trade and steady accumulation. HeyKundli computes the D2 with the other divisional charts.

Earning versus keeping

A strong 11th with a weaker 2nd often reads as good income that does not stay; a strong 2nd as steady saving. The 12th house (expenses) is read alongside both.

HeyKundli explains the pattern it finds in your chart. It does not tell you what to invest in, and it says so: astrology is not financial advice.

The 11th lord in each house

The ruler of the 11th, the house of gains, shows where income comes from. Classical tendencies, read with the 2nd house, Jupiter and the dhana yogas.

  1. In the 1st houseGains through your own effort and personal standing.
  2. In the 2nd houseGains that are saved and grow family wealth; a strong combination for holding money.
  3. In the 3rd houseIncome through communication, sales, media or your own initiative.
  4. In the 4th houseGains through property, vehicles, land or the home.
  5. In the 5th houseGains through investment, creativity, teaching or children's fields; read speculation with care.
  6. In the 6th houseIncome through service, employment or lending; expenses on health or disputes to watch.
  7. In the 7th houseGains through business, partners and clients.
  8. In the 8th houseSudden gains or losses, inheritance, insurance or a partner's money.
  9. In the 9th houseFortune-driven gains, through mentors, travel or higher learning.
  10. In the 10th houseGains through career and status; income rises with position.
  11. In the 11th houseA strong, steady house of gains; wishes and income are well supported.
  12. In the 12th houseGains abroad or through foreign links; spending can match income.

When: how the timing is read

Gains are usually timed by the dashas of the 2nd, 11th, 5th or 9th lords, of Jupiter, and of planets forming a dhana yoga.

Jupiter's transit through the 2nd, 5th, 9th or 11th house from the Moon is a commonly watched window. HeyKundli shows the periods and dates it computed.

Why date of birth alone isn't enough

Most "money and wealth prediction by date of birth" tools read only your Sun sign or a number from your birth date. A Vedic chart needs more: the ascendant (lagna) changes sign about every two hours, and with it every house, so the house that speaks for money and wealth depends on your birth time and place.

With an exact time, every house and its lord is fixed. With an approximate time, HeyKundli says which conclusions hold anyway (signs of slow planets, most dasha dates) and which depend on the minutes. With no time at all, it reads the Moon chart (Chandra lagna) and says so.

Every position, house, divisional chart and dasha date on HeyKundli is computed by the engine (Swiss Ephemeris, Lahiri ayanamsa, whole-sign houses, historical time zones). The AI astrologer explains what was computed and cites it; it never calculates a position or a date itself, so the facts do not change between answers. How we compute.

What an answer looks like

Example question: “When is a good period for financial growth?”

An answer cites what it uses, for example: "Your 2nd and 9th lords join in the 11th [H2, H9, H11], a classical dhana yoga [yoga]. Your Jupiter mahadasha from 2027 [MD] activates it, and Jupiter's transit through your 11th from the Moon that year is a supportive window." It never tells you what to buy or sell.

An illustration of the format, not a reading: your own answer uses your computed chart and dates.
