Is your Sade Sati running?
Sade Sati is the seven and a half years Saturn takes to cross the sign before your Moon sign, your Moon sign itself and the sign after it. Enter your birth details to see whether it is running now, the dates of each phase, and every Sade Sati of your life.
Your Moon sign (rashi) is worked out from your birth time and place; Saturn's sign changes come from the Swiss Ephemeris in the sidereal zodiac (Lahiri ayanamsa), to the hour.
Questions
What is Sade Sati?
The roughly seven and a half years when Saturn moves through the 12th, 1st and 2nd signs from your natal Moon. It has a rising phase, a peak and a setting phase of about two and a half years each.
Is Sade Sati always bad?
No. The texts read it as a time when effort is asked for and results come slowly, and many people do some of their most lasting work in it. How it feels depends on your whole chart, your dasha and where Saturn is strong.
How many times does Sade Sati come in a life?
Saturn takes about 29.5 years to go round the zodiac, so most people meet it two or three times.
Why do the dates differ between websites?
Some sites use the tropical zodiac or a different ayanamsa, and some ignore Saturn stepping back into a sign when retrograde. HeyKundli uses the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa and counts a retrograde step back as part of the same Sade Sati.
